Bangladesh pulled off a sensational chase in the third T20I of the Nidahas Trophy 2018 against hosts Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Colombo. This is the fourth best run-chase in T20Is and Bangladesh’s best, in fact the highest successful chase from a subcontinent side. The 215-run chase was architected by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim, who blasted a 35-ball 72 not out and he received good support from openers Liton Das and Tamim Iqbal.
Electing to bowl, Bangaldesh bowlers were taken to the cleaners by the Sri Lankan openers, who shared a 56-run stand from 27 balls. Mustafizur Rahman slower cutter foxed Danushka Gunathilaka. The carnage of Kusals began then. Kusal Mendis (57 runs off 30 balls) and Kusal Perera (74 off 48 balls) added 85 off 53 balls to take Sri Lanka to a strong position.
