Neymar wants to return to Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar would fit in at any club according to Zinedine Zidane, with the Real Madrid manager predicting that transfer fees will surpass the €400million mark.

Neymar became the most expensive footballer of all time when he joined PSG from Barcelona for €222million last summer.

Zidane expects transfer fees to soar even higher in the next decade but was eager to play down speculation linking Neymar with a move to Real Madrid.

‘Neymar would fit in at every club because he is very good just as other players,’ Zidane told a news conference, as reported by ESPN. ‘I’m not going to talk about a player that is not mine.

They [PSG] paid €222m, that’s what it is. When I was bought [by Real Madrid] they paid €72m or something like that and I thought it was crazy. Ten years later it’s €222m… in 10 years time or even earlier than that, they might spend €400m.’

Neymar has scored 20 goals in as many Ligue 1 appearances for PSG so far this season, while he has also found the net on six occasions in seven Champions League games.

The winger was missing through injury as PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid this week.

Real have lacked consistency in La Liga this season and are some 15 points adrift of leaders Barcelona, but they are still determined to win the Champions League for the third season in succession.

Zidane’s side are back in La Liga action tomorrow afternoon when they face Eibar away.
