IPL 2018: Bollywood star replaces Parineeti Chopra for the opening ceremony

Cricket has a relation with Bollywood and the fans in the country love both these trades equally. The Indian Premier League (IPL) brings the two together as the superstars perform at the opening ceremony and then also flock the stadium for the matches. IPL is cricket’s version of glamour and it hosts a spectacular opening ceremony every year ahead of the start of the season featuring the A-listers from Bollywood and some of the top performers from around the world.
This year is no different as the stars from the film industry will set the dice rolling at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. But the performer’s list this year has seen a lot of changes as actors who had initially committed for performance either had other commitments to fulfil, had too busy a schedule or suffered injuries and thus forced to give the IPL a miss. The likes of Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra had to bow out.
Excited to perform at the big stage
It is Tamannah Bhatia, who will replace Parineeti Chopra at the ceremony, is excited to perform at such a huge stage. She believes this as an occasion where the entertainment and cricket industry come together and celebrate this event. The B-town star, being from South finds a strong connect with the teams from that part of the country as she mentioned, “Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad feel like my own because I belong to all these cities,” Tamanna said.
