The fairytale homecoming of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has dealt with a severe blow after all their home matches have been shifted. The atmosphere in the city was not at all great ahead of the game as Cauvery issue was heated up with political protests out of the Stadium. Despite prior warnings from the political parties to shift or postpone the matches in Chennai were ignored by the Governing Council of IPL only to attract the ire of the fuming people.

Chennai crowd thoroughly enjoyed the game between CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) the other night after the hosts won the thriller famously to mark their comeback after 1065 days at the venue. It has always been a fortress for them but the severe protests and the unrest among the people has forced the organisers of the tournament to shift the matches now. The new home ground of CSK is yet to be known and the announcement is expected to be done soon.

The news of shifting all the home matches of CSK to another venue was confirmed according to the reports in ANI following severe protests for the match on Tuesday. This comes as a huge blow to the Men in Yellow as the team was well suited to the slow wickets at the venue and will have to shift change their strategy after the new venue is announced. Pune might be the wise option for the new venue as it has hosted a plethora of IPL matches previously and also gathers a huge crowd for every match during the tournament.
